The Beginnig
Hiei's mother was an ice maiden and they are basically asexual ^^, they don't need a male to produce another life. In the ice maiden's case, they produce twins, but Hiei's mother Hina, fell in love with his father (anyone know his name?), and therefore, one baby boy was a fire apparition (Hiei) the other little girl was an ice maiden (Yukina).

Hiei's mother cried two tear gems for her children and one was given to Hiei (tear gems: ice maidens cry and their tears become valuable jewels). Because Hiei was the *Forbidden Child,* he was thrown off the island into regular Makai with the tear gem, where Yoko (Kurama's true form) took him in under his wing, or more appropriate, his paw because Kurama was a spirit fox, known throughout Makai as a great bandit.

Many years later, Hiei had a surgery done and his third eye was born. It is called the Jagan Eye. With it, he can control very few low-minded creatures and search far for anything, which brings him to find and rescue Yukina, his sister.

When he finds her, she is being held captive by a black-market man, named Tarukaney, who is selling her tear gems on the market. Hiei is furious and almost kills Tarukaney, but the only thing that stopped him was Yukina. She doesn't like fighting, pain, torture, or anything bad. Hiei stops so she cries no more tears. Awwww!

Team Urameshi
Hiei first became part of Team Urameshi at the Demon World Tournament, however, this is not when he first met the team. He met Yusuke Urameshi when he stole the Shadow Sword from Lord Enma's Great Vault and was defeated by him. Kazuma Kuwabara (his mortal enemy ^^)came into the picture when he was atoning for his crimes with Kurama and all four of them went to the Maze Castle to defeat the four Gods: Genbu vs. Kurama, Byakko vs. Kazuma, Seiryuu vs. Hiei, and Suzaku vs. Yusuke. All four of them won, but Kazuma did not kill Byakko, instead Byakko was really killed by Seiryuu. ^^

Others
He has met new friends on the way. Even though he will not admit it, he would stand in the way of a blast coming towards someone he cares for (ESPECIALLY YUKINA!!!!) OH BUDDHA! DON'T EVER MESS WITH YUKINA OR YOU GOT HIM TOO! *stings* ow!
